Bad Ssra raid

It started as a good day I logged in and went to Walls of Slaughter and got 3 aa and got Mental Clarity 3! I was pleased. I lost a role on a rune but over all the group was rolling along nicely. A raid was called and we headed out to Ssra.

We form up and head in go up to the Emp room. Successfully pull the Blood and his adds. Get everything locked down, this is our 6th raid doing this as a guild and 8th, 9th and higher for some of us who are more experienced. Everything is going great no problems. The emp spawns, we are little short on healers so we plan carefully on on beastlord paragons (I play a 66 beastlord. I get mine off correctly at 70 pct and then 70 to 50 pct were going along nicely. Then all of a sudden I see "Entering Ssra" on my screen. WTF! I let my guild know my group got evac'd! Our wizard hit evac accidently pulling our whole group of: Wizard, SK rampage tank, beastlord, beastlord and mage to the zone line! That was a significant portion of our DPS! Both the beastlords are bane weaponed and dot and nuke. The loss of the rampage tank meant rampage went over to our shaman! The shaman dropped a short time later. There was no way to get our group back up into the Emp room! The rampage bounced around after losing the shaman and finally our MA went down. Raid ended up wiping.

My group was still sitting at the zone in! At least our SK rampage tank was alive and full mana for the corpse summons.

Next time we will get the evil Emp! The wizard will no doubt be in his own little group so he can't accidenlty evac his group to the zone line!

time to level again

After being level 65 for about 6 months now I was shocked to remember why I don’t like pick up groups!

Yesterday I logged on and no guild groups had room for me, so I took a pick up LDON. I asked ahead of time if anyone needed my shaman line of buffs (I play a beastlord) and no one said anything. So I buffed up my pet. Once we get to the entrance everyone suddenly wants my buffs. The tank was running focus and did not tell me and so I wasted a moment casting on him before moving on to the rest. They zone in before I am done buffing. After getting in I see the chanter cast a slow so I send my pet in on that mob. No one assists. I had my buffs up, I continue buffing and notice my pet is lacking in health. I ask for a heal. None comes. I ask again. None comes. I am trying to get my spells swapped out so I can get my heal up I get it loaded and cast. My pet is enraged at this point. My heal takes 10 seconds and did not get off in time. Pet dies. “Oh I did not see the pet was on a mob” they say. I grumpily recast a pet and start buffing. The necro says in group you need a better pet, I was buffing him when my pet went down, I smack him. They go off and pull 3 mobs I am back buffing my pet annoyed that the necro had insulted me. The cleric is getting annoyed because there are so many mobs, and wanders why they are not slowed? I dunno because you left the beastlord at the zone in maybe? The chanter says he has them slowed. I don’t know what is going on. I am ready to duel the necro at this point for his insult. The chanter and the cleric get into it. The chanter disbands. The puller gets 3 on the next pull. I put my pet on 1, tank 1 myself and leave the other to the MA, while slowing them all. I notice that my pet did not even get a HOT from the cleric. I ask her to heal my pet because I am slowing and off tanking. No heals come for my pet, I have to stop and heal it 2 times. At this point I am annoyed. Sure let me take on 2 mobs on my own without any back up while the rest of you try and get your heads together. The necro goes afk and does not come back during the next 2 pulls. Then the puller gets 4, I take 2 as I did before. The cleric is getting mad because a mob is on her, I stop to get it off, and take serious damage as I am now on 2 mobs. We barely manage to survive it. Once again my pet got no heals from the cleric who seemed incapable of rooting the mob that was on her. The necro was still afk. At this point I say that my guild is calling and disband and go join a guild group in Ferubi that had an opening. I felt bad about leaving them without a slower but I was not up to dealing with that mess.

A few hours later the Ferubi group had broken up and I get an invite to a BOT group that one of the guilds clerics was in. So I went up there, we had a good tank a warrior in a elemental guild, a wizard, cleric, pally, monk and me. I was slowing without problems and the mobs were dying quickly. I was enjoying that I now had an extra spell slot for a dot, though it was killing my mana pool. We get an add and I off tank it with my pet. We get another add and I off tank it with my pet again. We get another add and I off tank again with my pet. At this point it dawns on me that we have a pally. Why is the pally not offtanking!?! He is a duke so he obliviously has some aa. I ask the cleric and she said no clue but I was doing fine as an off tank. Anyway for some reason for the rest of the time I was in the group I was offtanking, yes the leather wearing beastlord, as well as slowing.

Now I remember why I liked being 65 I did not have to worry about levels anymore! Ack! Now I have to get to 70, I am probably not going to be enjoying this too much. Though I am pleased to have the title of Feralkin now.

Well wow! What a busy week! I dinged 65! I stayed up til 2am to manage it but I did it! I was soooo excited! I also bought my new slow.... 35kp! EEP! I have no pp now! The very next day I got my 18th AA so I now a Venerable!

My guild alliance has started raiding NTOV, I am really excited! I have enough points to buy a new tunic once it drops again! It is 40 AC and priority is given to leatherwearers! Which would be me!

I got keyed for COD and a free AA how exciting! Things have been so busy!

Howling Stones

We went off to Howling Stones last night. It was our first real trip there. The loot was very good and we had a lot of fun. We only had time to complete the first wing but we had fun doing it. I am looking forward to going there again in the future.

Troubles with mages....

So after dinging 63 and buying one of my 63 spells, which cost a whopping 4.5kp I was very poor. So I headed out to Dulaks late one night to camp the soul stripper. I called a camp check when I arrived and only 2 of the boats were taken. So I headed into the tunnels. I fought my way in and found a mage at the camp. What the heck? Oh I did not see the camp check he says. I mutter to myself but head out and camp at the zone line.

The next night I log back in and call the camp check again, one boat and the armory were taken. So I fight my way into the tunnels and set up at the soul stripper spawn spot. Each camp check that is called I answer soul stripper.

I sit and talk to the guild and read the guild message boards and in general kill light blues. After about 2 hours my KEI goes, and still no soul stripper. Oh well. I sit back not like I need KEI in this camp at my level.

Suddenly the mage from the night before shows up. I say hi and that I camping the soul stripper. He did not call a camp check or anything. He said he had not gotten it the night before. I nod and continue pulling. He asks me how long I had been there, I tell him about 1 kei’s worth of time.

After my pet kills the light blue I turn around and see that he has cast a pet and is sitting there. I wonder why the heck he is sitting there. It is obvious I am camping the spot I even said so. My pet is parked at the spawn spot. I mutter but continue about my business. About 10 minutes go by and he is still there, and I tell my guild he is making me nervous sitting there, he looks like he is setting up to KS. IT is not a safe spot to go afk in there are several spawns that wander through and the mage was only level 58.

My good friend asks me who the heck this mage is. I tell the guild who is he and if anyone knows him? They all answer nope they do not know him. Oh well we go through another spawn cycle and still no soul stripper. The mage is still hanging out. I am starting to get annoyed. He is not talking I don’t know him why is he hanging out at my camp.

A few moments later the guild officers start asking me questions about him. I am like what the heck? Apparently my friend had done a who all and found out his guild and sent a tell to one of the guilds officers.

I told the guild what had happened, I had been polite the night before and left the camp spot and tonight I had been there for almost 3 hours trying to get this named to spawn.
I am groaning, how could my friend start such a big hubabloo over this. I mean it is unlikely that he would have been able to KS me, he was only 58 and I am 63 so my default my pet is bigger than his. I sent a tell to the officer apologizing for causing problems, but he was making me nervous just sitting there. Apparently he was claiming to be talking with friends.

I told him to shooo go kill other mobs, I will send him a tell when I am done with the camp. About 10 minutes later the soul stripper spawned. The mage was sitting down and it immediately went after him. I sent my pet and started dotting and nuking away then began to melee it The mages pet was engaged. I am getting annoyed at this point, the night before my pet had gotten agro in the camp spot and I had poofed it to prevent KS’ing. I out damaged the mage and the soul stripper died. I looted my new weapon and told him good bye. I was heading out he could have the camp. But I don’t want the camp he said. I am thinking then why were you sitting there for the last half an hour?

I head out to the zoneline and ask if any porters are busy and can I get a pick up in SBM? As I zone into Gunthak I find one of the guilds druid officers waiting for me. I was like why are you here? Oh just in case there was a real problems. I groan and apologize to my guild for causing such problems thinking the mage is an idiot.

I head off to BOT to secure my level and throw the soul stripper weapon in my shared slot to sell later. A bit later he sends me a tell that he could not believe that I thought he was going to KS me. I am thinking well duh what did you expect me to think?

Hole Raid

Chanter epic piece from hell…

I don’t like the Hole! That zone is difficult to get into and get out of and not terribly fun! But our guild den mother wanted her enchanter epic piece from there.

Seems simple enough eh?

They recently moved the enchanter epic mob and the information online about it was rather vague. So we head in with 2 groups to the Hole. I pick the lock with my bard.

We get down deep into the Hole and start scouting to try and find the mob. We were in the courtyard before the final tunnel to ranger epic mob. After a number of eye of zomm scoutings we finally found the mob! Yeah!

The courtyard respawns. The cleric goes LD, we lose the MT but the rest of us are alive. The cleric comes back and rez’s the MT after the rez effects leave the MT pulls the first mob. Our cleric is only lvl 51 and while he has a good mana pool his mana regen is not that of a lvl 65 cleric. We get an add, the mobs were not mezzable. The MT goes down and then the cleric. The whole group is killed.

Luckily we had a necro on the raid so he summons our bodies and we give it a try again!

We get down to the courtyard again and we pull the first mob and get 3! All of which were unmezzable. We wipe again!

The enchanter wanted to give up. But the wizard refused to allow this. Several people had to go at this time, and we switchout the MT and the cleric for a different pair. So we have a 65 pally a 65 cleric 65 wizard, 58 enchanter, 56 bard and 61 beastlord. We head back down again.

This time we have a plan. We pacified the mobs in the courtyard and moved into the tunnel and pulled to there. We were able to get single pulls and stayed alive!

We moved up into the upper courtyard and managed to kill the epic mob very quickly. Then a port out for a very weary group!

Shard Farming

So I decided to go shard hunting in Sanctus Seru, I am KOS there since I did a raid there a bit ago and my faction is bad now. So I run in I am only Dubious to the guard coolness, then I wander forward a bit and bam I get agro. Some of the mobs from deeper in the zone are at the zoneline. I send my pet in and hit slow the mob come and starts to hit on me. Then there was an add! EEP! I start to run for the zone line!

The mobs hit me more and stun me! Oh dear my hp is dropping down. I head for the zone line again.

I am right at the zone line I struggle to make it, but do not make it.

Sighs I am back in POK. I check with the guild clerics and none are available. Oh well I log on my friends cleric to rez me. I head over to Sanctus and zone him in. BAM the mobs that killed me are at the zoneline still!

Grrr I am getting annoyed now! How did that happen? Yeah I know he is KOS but the guards usually leave him alone if you stay right at the zoneline.

Well I run back with my beastlord and invis thankfully the mobs do not see invis, I drag the bodies to the Mseru side of the zone and was able to get the cleric in safely and get both of us rez’d.

I headed out at that time to a guild group in Droga but later that day I went back to Sanctus and pulled the guards on the Mseru side of the zoneline. The second guard dropped my shard! What luck!

Keys!

I started shard farming for my VT key, yeah I know the quest from hell. I about a weeks time I have managed to get the following shards: Grey, Acrylia Caverns, Scarlet Desert, Dawn Shroud Peeks, Sanctus Seru.

I am most pleased with my progress, I expect to be done by next Christmas!

Wow! What a couple of weeks! I joined a new guild, Dreamweavers, they are awesome so far!

I dinged 60! WOHOO! About time! My first character to reach 60!

I also got my epic on my beastlord! Pictures to come!

Level 60 flew by and I am not 80 pct into 61! I can barely believe it!

Nekkid Froggie race!

So it sounded easy enough, make a lvl 1 frog and run from Gukta to Qeynos bank, of course you need to pick up a few items on the way. Krazilor roped me into trying it because he was taunting me about being a wuss for not trying! Soooo being a sucker I go and make a froggy cleric lvl 1. And head out, I do the little run around Gukta get my 5gp and get lvl 2 and head out. I make it safely to Sro, one of the rules was no porters or books, or buffs! Kraz was ahead of me already in Freeport. So I start to run through Sro, oh yeah I get killed by the orcs, back to Innothule swamp.

Run back through South Ro, take different route and survive! At this time Kraz sends me a tell that we are a shoe in for winning. Why I ask? Because the person in the lead of the race took 5 hours and 20 minutes to complete it! *rolls her eyes. Did he think that maybe there was a reason that it took the leader 5+ hours to complete the race?

So the items we needed were:
Sack of Hay (ground spawn in West Karana)
Lendel's Grand Lager (buy in Rivervale)
Rusty Short Sword
Rat Eye
FuzzleCutter Formula 5000 (buy outside West Freeport Gate)
An Old Silver Coin (these are usually in pools inside cities as a ground drop)

The results are:
Kraz dies 5 times in Innothule Swamp
I die 1 time in Sro
We both bind in EC
We both die in HHP
Return to EC
Rebind in Rivervale
Kraz dies in HHP
I make it through HHP but die falling off the cliff in EK ><
I run back to HHP, died 4 more times before successfully making it through the zone!
We run through the Karanas safely and manage to get our sack of hay.

We make it to Qeynos bank in a mere 3 hours 20 minutes and get first and second place!

My prize?
A Shaded Tunic

I was most pleased. By working together and making good use of Allas we finsihed the race in record time!

Troubles

Well Krazilor and I did it, we applied to a new guild. We really liked our current guild Children of Honor, but at 58 and 59 they were not being able to help us move forward, we were the 2 highest in the guild that actually grouped with guildmates! (the guild leader is a druid who mostly kites in ME and PON).

We are only 2 mobs away from getting our epics! But the guild does not have enough people of the right classes to help us get them.

So we applied to a new larger guild!

Hopefully they will let us in!

So many years ago, in a Galaxy far, far away (okay…wrong movie and not that many years ago) Krazilor a young Iksar beastlord was born, he joined with others in battles but spent most of his time alone.

Then one day a high elf with golden hair told him of another beastlord. This beastlord's name was Rraane and she was somewhat wise in the ways of the world, though she still had much to learn.

He decided, after much thought, that he should speak to her. So he sent a cautious “Hi” (he had found that most other races did not like him, being Iksar).

Rraane did not mind the scaly skin as the Vah Shir have no such prejudice, and sent back a “Heya”. They quickly became friends. As Krazilor and Rraane grew in strength and wisdom they fought more together. They traveled widely, often with others.

Their first family disbanded one sad week, so they joined a new family together. But soon others left the new family and Krazilor and Rraane were the oldest and wisest in the family (which is not a good thing since they are really not very old or wise!) As the oldest and wisest though, they spent much time organizing events for guild members that were looking to them. Many giants in Kael died to get family members interesting new clothing.

Together they worked on their epics and their friends and family helped, but in the end, the last 2 battles did not take place as their family was far to small, the final pieces have thus eluded them.

One night while deep in Takish, Krazilor meet some people from the Dreamweavers family. He told Rraane of them and how nice they were even though the run through the dungeon had gone poorly. In spite of only battling the creatures in the first few rooms, with a number of deaths had by these people, laughter was the course of the day.

Krazilor and Rraane pondered this. The next day Rraane contacted the Dreamweavers guild. Rraane and Krazilor grouped several times with people from the guild. They continue to look at this family with a certain wonder and longing for the fun and friendship they have witnessed among these creatures, both varied and diverse

Xayide went to the Plane of Fear with them, a truly scary place to be! All went well in Fear until Fright was pulled and brought a few of his friends. Xayide hit her fake dead but after Fright finished off eating most of the Dreamweavers in the zone he took a whack at her and hit her for 20000 damage. That was slightly more than her fully debuffed hitpoints at the time! Rez’s were done and all was well in the end.

Krazilor and Rraane would like to formally request permission to join the Dreamweavers so that they may have a new family where they can grow and hopefully become wiser and stronger. Aging with these creatures form a diverse set of cultures bound together by wonderful values, fun, and excitement.

Yeah I joined a bigger guild and was thrilled and happy they helped me get my epic. I was perfectly happy until one day disaster struck! NOOOOO!

The guild leaders were leaving and disbanding the guild to start a new semi-uber raiding guild!

So my guild was disbanded. I joined the semi-uber raiding guild, which was okay, but I could not stand the new co-leader. For some reason he rubbed me the wrong way. I was only 55 and too little for most of the stuff they were doing and the new co-leader did not make me feel welcome at all. So I pretty much stopped playing my bard and ended up leaving the uber raiding guild.

A few months later my old guild leaders left this new guild that they had helped form up to join one of the top guilds on the server.

So I am back at square one, small family guild.

My bsty is now 58 and my bard is 57 and I have a new SK who is now 47.

So our little guild is going to be doing our first major raid tomorrow.

We are going to Torrigans and going to kill Overseer Wrank (we hope!)

We recently farmed enough keys to spawn him, it did not take too long.

The mob is only lvl 53 but has a nasty AOE.

He drops good druid and bsty gear and since most of the guild is druid and bsty this a good mob for us to take out.

We are planning on 2 groups to do this. I am bringing my chanter and bsty. The chanter to KEI and slow and the bsty for DPS.

*crosses her fingers that it is going well.

So we were in the jail area moving in for Trak raid and I was talking with the MT.

Aileanth: of course, DS, mana song, resist song, OOS, you don't really need haste do you?
Ryven: what! you are not twisting 5 songs! your fired! :-P

So Order of Concord a guild ally of ours does Trakanon raids every Thrusday, I went last thursday! It was a great fun!

So I wait this past Thursday anxiously in POK, I had done all my turn ins for my epic and the only thing left to do was the Undead Bard and Undead Trakanon in Seb. I wait while talking with friends the minutes tick by...

Finally! Goldee one of the guild leaders log on, I send her a quick tell and link my mystical lute head. She speaks with the raid leader of Trakanon for Order of Concord.

A few minutes later I find out it is a go! We all head to Seb. I get a port in I am so excited I can barely stand it!

I sit anxiously as groups are made, 34 people show up, 14 of which are from Legion of Antioch my guild.

After groups are made Adab our resident suicidal mage, mod rod's himself to death! ><

Then we head forward! Into the bowls of Seb we go! Paralon a lvl 65 bard friend of mine comes to do the resist songs, I am too low for the AOE resist which is a lvl 56 song...

20 minutes later we reach the lair, I can barely sit in my seat.

My name gets called and I step forward anxiously... I hail the Undead Bard and do the proper dialogue and give him my mystical lute head.

I move back to the group and the monk kills the Undead Bard... and bam Undead Trakanon spawns!

A few short heartstopping moments later...

Only one death during the raid! a great raid! Adab was our only causality and that was the suicidal mages own fault LOL

A quick run to Steamfont and the Dreadlands and voila..

near death expierence

So the previous night I had been up in Hate on a raid, and had to leave a bit early because I needed to go to work the next day, so I got a TL out to the Nexus and promptly camped...

Logged back on the next day, noticed my hp was at 50 pct, ah well no worries, I had aego, I started singing my healing song and chatting with some friends. Next thing I know I look up at my hp and it was at 30 pct and dropping. I grabbed my lute and continued my healing song, watching my hp drop more. I had 2 dots a poision and a diesese one left over from the previous night that had not been cured.

I do an ooc for a cure. Some sends me a tell, he can cure me by the bazaar entrance, I get up and start running there, watching my hp drop as I got 10 pct now...

I spot him and hail him! and then do a /yell

Aileanth yells for help

He casts the spell quickly, then again....

I watch my hp drop more 8 pct now....

He casts the spell again...

Whew I am cured and at 5 pct hp.

I thought I was a gonner for sure! I thank him profusely!

Note to self: next time get a cure before camping.

Ding 50! Wohoo! I also got my red scale today, I bought it in the bazaar, well rather Magu bought it in the bazaar for 6kp, I owe him 2kp now. But hopefully that will not take too long to make!

Tomorrow Naggy raid, hopefully 2 drums with drop!

Made 856pp in the bazaar despite getting booted to the desktop every 20 minutes or so, hopefully the patch will fix this.

Ding 35. I tried OOT but soloing there exp was not as fast as DSP. More down time. Off to DSP again.

We had a spur of the moment guild raid to Lguk, it only took an hour and half to get together once the idea was thrown out. We ended up being able to camp the assassian room and get me my mask of deception! Yes! I am so excited! I was feeling silly a lvl 45 bard and no mask of deception, all the other bards of that lvl that I know already have that mask.

Helped Woland on his Rallic Quest today. We got a port and a invis into Grimiling and ran to Teneberous. We only had to wait an hour and a half for the spawn! LOL! Towards the end of it my eyes were crossing and I was worried I would miss the spawn and he would run by us. We killed the runner and Woland got us to Katta, he turned in the pouch for the backpack pattern, going to help him finish the quest tomorrow. Woland is a monk in our guild and seriously needs the rallic pack.

Found a new great spot in Timorous Deep, hunting Spirocs, a great spot and great exp! Hardly anyone there. Dinged 44, hopefully I will ding 45 today, crossing fingers. Raid tonight in the Lake of Rathe trying to get some epic items for guildies, hopefully it will go well.
